The majority of modern goalkeepers helmets are now based upon the ice hockey goalkeepers style of extended face guard with adjustable back plate, rather than the full helmet ice hockey player style. As such they are now being made specifically for our style of hockey rather than adapted from ice hockey. This also means that with a few exceptions they are all fitted with an HM30 style of grill with improved vision.
